It seems that Burt and I made a habit of frequenting diners we found objectionable. This quirk appeared to me while I wandered neighborhoods around town with my friends pointing out places we’d been. It was awful, I’d say. Service wasn’t very good. Yet, we had eaten there often.
The Ritz Diner was one such place. We weren’t regulars but… we had gone back. A few times.
Today, finding myself in its proximity, I thought about time. That feels so unfair.
Proximity brought me to try Lungi, a South Indian – Sri Lankan joint across from the now-defunct above- mentioned Ritz. Quite expensive, nicely appointed, it features good curried and offers good service. I shall return, likely bringing along a companion diner.
